This ring is inspired by Karolina Widerström (1856–1949), Sweden’s first female physician, who graduated in 1888. Karolina specialized in gynecology and was a pioneer in women’s health. Despite strong opposition, she lectured, wrote articles and books, and fought to improve conditions for women, especially single mothers, and worked against prostitution.
